There have been so many recalls on children's and baby products lately. It's scary! Just to name a couple; Similac recalled millions of containers of formula because they were possibly contaminated with "beetle parts" or larvae. Gross! And we're feeding our children this stuff? Trusting companies to provide nutrition for our babies just to find out they've been ingesting bugs? It's outrageous! At least I know, with my daughter being breastfed, anything nasty she ingests will be MY fault...but at least she won't ingest bugs. Next we have Fisher Price's recall of several toys and high chairs. Valves are coming off toys and choking children. Trikes that have dangerous protruding keys that can possibly lead to genital bleeding if sat on!
My question is, can we really trust these companies to provide the best nutrition, education, play, and SAFETY for our children? Or are they out there to make a buck? How come so many problems aren't caught and rectified until the product goes on sale? Who doesn't think of a protruding ignition keys in a young child's toy as being dangerous?
Parents, always check your children's products and make sure they're safe to use. Some of these toys and products on the recall could be in your house. Contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to proceed if you have an item that is being recalled.
Here are the links to the sites for the companies having a recall that I mentioned.
